Autotransformers

COMPLIES WITH IEC 61558-2-13 STANDARDS

 

The autotransformer has one winding. Its main function is to adapt the voltage to the need. It is, by construction, reversible. Its size is smaller and cheaper for the same amount of power than an isolation transformer. 

 

Its level of performance is better, it has small losses because there are less used materials. However, it has not galvanic isolation.

Safety transformers

COMPLIES WITH IEC 61558-2-6 STANDARD

 

The safety transformer brings security to people and command. Close enough to a circuit separation or isolating transformer, the safety transformer has the secondary voltage below 50V. It is used to control/command applications or automatism.

Circuit separation transformers

COMPLIES WITH STANDARDS NF EN 60742 * or WITH STANDARD NFC 52210

 

The circuit separation transformer, also known as isolating transformer (From a power of 6.3kVA), insulates galvanically a device or an installation from electrical disturbances.

Besides the adaptation of the voltage, it allows the change of the neutral point connection. With an electrostatic screen, the transformer mitigated the disruption of high frequency. Connected in triangle, it deletes harmonics from rank 3.

Circuit separation transformers, medical use

COMPLIES WITH CEI/IEC 61558 - 1/- 2/-2-15

 

The isolating transformers (medical use) are adapted for use in medical buildings as hospitals or medical rooms as operating rooms, shock rooms, dental practices… 

They are fitted with thermal probes which allow a temperature protection to avoid possible damages caused by an increase of the temperature in the transformer.

They are fully compliant with CEI/IEC 61558 - 1/- 2/-2-15 with very specific characteristics (UCC < 3%, Inrush current < 12In, …). The galvanic isolation is strengthened. The secondary voltage needs to be 250V or less.

Three-Phase/Single-Phase transformers

Function: The isolating transformer three/single phase (TRI/MONO) allows to move from a primary three-phase network (Y) to a secondary single-phase network by mitigating instability without removing it. Its characteristics are similar to a standard isolating transformer.
